About David A. Fernandez

Mr. Fernandez earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1984 and obtained a Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 1989 from Texas Southern University. Throughout his career, spanning from before his legal practice to the present, Mr. Fernandez has been actively involved in various social and political initiatives. Notable endeavors include his participation in the Nuclear Weapons Freeze Campaign in the early 1980s and his involvement in the Bill White for Texas Governor Campaign.

Despite an unsuccessful bid for Justice of the Peace in 1993 and a close and disappointing primary loss in a subsequent attempt for the Texas House of Representatives District 148, Mr. Fernandez garnered endorsements from prominent entities such as The Houston Chronicle, The Houston Post, Harris County Democrats, and various civic associations.

In 2009, Mr. Fernandez founded his current law firm, The Law Office of David A. Fernandez, P.C. The initial clients of his new firm were primarily from Debt Elimination Specialists, LLC. The law office now specializes in collection defense, debt negotiation, and business litigation. David possesses extensive experience in civil law and consumer protection law. During the 1990s, he served as an adjunct professor of political science and criminal procedure. Between 2002 and 2006, David dedicated four years to studying and volunteering in Latin and Central America. Beyond his professional life, he engages in grassroots campaigns for social and political causes or enjoys hitting the slopes with friends and family.
