About William B. Long
William B. Long, Jr. is a practicing Trial Attorney who engages in the General Practice of Law, with emphasis in Criminal Defense (State and Federal) and Contested Family Court matters (Divorce; Child Custody and Visitation; Property and Debt Division; Alimony and Support, etc.). He has received Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating of AV Preeminent based upon polling of his legal peers. He is generally known and prefers to be addressed by his life-long nickname, “Billy Long”.
Billy Long began his legal career as an employee of the Haynsworth Law Firm during Law School, and after graduation from the University of South Carolina School of Law, as an Associate Attorney. He remained with that firm for approximately three years before accepting a position as an assistant United States Attorney for South Carolina. Billy worked in that office for three years as a criminal prosecutor before returning to the private sector and establishing his own Law practice.
Billy considers the Practice of Law to be a Service Profession and a High Calling. He strives to be a passionate advocate in protecting the rights and achieving Justice for his clients.
