About Cosmo J. Tedone
Cosmo J. Tedone, born on December 13, 1966, in Manchester, Connecticut, has a distinguished legal career. Before co-founding the law firm, Tedone & Morton, P.C., he spent eight years as a senior associate with Chuck Bretz and Associates, P.C. In addition to this, he served as an Assistant Will County Public Defender and worked in private practice, focusing on insurance defense and general civil litigation. Notably, his involvement in several appeals led to the overturning of three murder convictions in 2011.
With over two decades of legal experience, Mr. Tedone's primary focus in his current practice encompasses criminal defense (including DUI, Suspended Driver Licenses, Drugs, Domestic Battery, Homicide, and Appeals), personal injury cases, and Secretary of State Hearings. He caters to a diverse range of clients and represents them in litigation matters before both Federal and State Courts, as well as in arbitration and administrative agencies. Mr. Tedone's extensive litigation experience includes over fifty jury trials, hundreds of bench trials, and motions.
Mr. Tedone is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology (B.A. 1990) and the Thomas Cooley School of Law (J.D. 1999 - Cum Laude). While in law school, he received several awards and accolades, including a Certificate of Merit in Torts and Family Law. He was a finalist in the school's moot court competition and served as a member of the law review. He holds licenses to practice in the States of Connecticut and Illinois, and he is qualified to appear before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois Trial Bar. Mr. Tedone is an active member of the Will County Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and has a history as a former member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers.
