During her law school years, LaKeisha excelled, winning accolades for Best Oral Argument and Best Overall Performance as a member of the Moot Court Board. She also served on the Executive Board of the Student Bar Association, established the Pro Bono Council, and led the charge to exonerate wrongfully convicted individuals within the criminal justice system through her involvement with the law school's Innocence Project. Her legal education extended beyond the classroom, as she delved into Pharmaceutical law, Comparative Bioethics, and Biodiversity while studying abroad at the Universidad de Costa Rica.
LaKeisha is a native of southwest Atlanta and a prominent figure in her community. She served as the inaugural Young Lawyers Division Chair of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys and held three terms on its Executive Board.
