About Eric S. Chavez
Eric Chavez is a trial lawyer dedicated to helping individuals and their families reclaim their lives after losing a loved one or suffering an injury due to someone else’s negligence. He began his legal career as a defense attorney for an insurance company. Through taking cases to trial and participating in countless arbitrations, Chavez witnessed how insurance companies can overlook the human aspect of injury and insurance claims, often viewing cases merely as business concerns to be settled cheaply or fought vigorously, regardless of cost. Later in his career, he defended insurance companies in bad-faith litigation. Currently, he represents injury victims in wrongful death, personal injury, motor vehicle accident, mold injury, traumatic brain injury, insurance bad faith, medical malpractice, medical device defect, and product liability cases.
Before entering law school, Chavez worked as a property and casualty claims adjuster for two national insurers, handling wildfire and mudslide catastrophe claims in California, as well as mid- to large-loss claims arising from hurricanes in the Southern United States.
Chavez’s experience as both a claims adjuster and a lawyer reinforced the principle that achieving the best settlement requires demonstrating a willingness and readiness to take the case to trial. For this reason, he prepares every case from day one as if it will proceed to trial.
Committed to advancing the quality of the legal profession, Chavez is a member of the King County Bar Association and the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association, and is honored to have served on the Tacoma-Pierce County Superior Court Liaison Committee. He also served as the Chair of the Washington State Bar Association Trial Advocacy Program and participated on the Program’s faculty.
He is humbled to have been selected to the Washington Super Lawyers list by Super Lawyers Magazine every year since 2020.
