About AJ Amissah

A.J. Amissah, Esq., achieved cum laude honors upon his graduation from Benedict College in 2013. Following his time at Benedict College, he pursued his legal education at the Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After a year at Southern University, he decided to return to his hometown and continued his legal studies at the University of the District of Columbia School of Law (UDCSL). During his tenure at UDCSL, he actively participated in the Legislative Clinic and Special Education Clinic.

In 2016, Mr. Amissah graduated with cum laude distinction from UDCSL. Subsequently, he embarked on a career at the Children's Law Center in Washington, D.C., where he served as a Guardian Ad Litem and Special Education attorney. While at the Children's Law Center, he tirelessly represented numerous underprivileged children and parents in a wide range of legal proceedings, including disciplinary hearings, IEP meetings, abuse and neglect hearings, as well as juvenile hearings and mental health proceedings.

In August 2018, Mr. Amissah chose to embark on a new venture by co-founding the Amissah & Marsh Law Firm alongside his fellow classmate, Anthony Marsh II. Additionally, he is the visionary behind the Brown Bag Project DMV, a non-profit organization with a mission to offer support and advocacy to individuals experiencing homelessness in the DMV (Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia) area.
