Latoya Francis-Williams, Esq., is a distinguished graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law. Following her admission to the Maryland State Bar, she has consistently demonstrated a remarkable work ethic, with a primary focus on advocating for victims of police brutality.
Ms. Francis-Williams' legal practice centers on several key areas, including Civil Rights, Police Brutality and Police Misconduct cases, Criminal Defense, Personal Injury, and Victims' Rights. Furthermore, she holds the position of counsel at the renowned Law Office of A. Dwight Pettit, P.A., where she leads the litigation department. Her independent thinking and unwavering passion for justice through the practice of law have propelled her to lead numerous prominent legal battles on behalf of victims of police misconduct.
Some of her notable achievements include securing substantial awards and settlements, such as a six-figure award by a Baltimore City jury for a man assaulted by Baltimore City Police officers in front of his toddler son, a six-figure settlement for a 35-year-old man shot by Baltimore City Police officers, and a seven-figure settlement for the family of a man who was fatally beaten by a Morgan State University Campus Police Officer and multiple Baltimore City Police Officers. Additionally, she obtained a seven-figure award by a Baltimore City jury for the family of a domestic violence victim whom Baltimore City Police failed to protect, as well as a federal jury six-figure award for a young man who was slapped by a Baltimore City Police officer while handcuffed. Ms. Francis-Williams also secured a seven-figure settlement for the beneficiaries of a 21-year-old black male who fell victim to excessive force by Baltimore County police officers.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Ms. Francis-Williams has received prestigious awards, including the National Black Lawyers' Top 40 under 40 Award, which celebrates her years of dedication to Civil Rights.
