Mr. Steven Lewis Rader joined The Ryan Firm in January 2023, bringing over two decades of experience representing public agencies, businesses, and individuals across Southern California. He has advised CEOs, Chiefs of Police, City Council Members, Union Officers, Entrepreneurs, Homeowners’ Association Boards, and Landlords on a wide range of contract, employment, real property, and legal compliance matters.

Mr. Rader worked his way through college by driving a forklift and graduated in the top 10% of his class at the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. At Emory Law School, he ranked in the top 20% of his class, served as Managing Editor of the Bankruptcy Developments Journal, and published an article on workers’ compensation insurance premiums in employer bankruptcies.

He began his legal career as a PORAC Legal Defense Fund panel attorney, representing public safety officers and firefighters. During this time, he served as case-managing attorney for a class action that settled for over $47 million and obtained a $600,000 jury verdict in a federal civil rights trial. He later joined a downtown Los Angeles firm, securing significant court victories for city and county clients, including a reverse-discrimination class action and a premises liability appeal.

Recruited to lead litigation for an Orange County firm serving homeowners’ associations, Mr. Rader oversaw multiple trials, arbitrations, and mediations, then moved to a public agency law firm where he defended a rent control ordinance, obtained quiet title for a dedicated park, and won a retirement benefit class action. Before joining The Ryan Firm, he served as Director of Firm Operations at Centauri Law Group, P.C., handling quality control and client relations.
