Admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1983, Mrs. Johannsen boasts a substantial track record as a senior legal advisor and hands-on attorney. She adeptly manages high volumes of litigation and advisory matters, excels in negotiating and documenting complex transactions, and consistently achieves favorable outcomes for her clients.

Before joining Canterbury, PC, Mrs. Johannsen served as Of Counsel with Estes Thorne & Carr PLLC. Her knowledge played a pivotal role in leading the firm to establish a new construction and architectural practice, focusing on liability and legal strategy. Representing general contractors, subcontractors, and architects, she garnered recognition as one of the top lawyers for Commercial and Construction litigation in Dallas and earned a place among the Best Lawyers in America.

For 11 years, Mrs. Johannsen served as General Counsel for The Beck Group. In this role, she effectively mitigated risks and navigated unforeseen obstacles through meticulous due diligence. She instituted and modernized compliance policies, staying abreast of evolving regulations specific to the construction and architectural industries. Mrs. Johannsen also played a key role in developing litigation strategy and standardized contract templates for company-wide use. Prior to her tenure as Beck’s General Counsel, Mrs. Johannsen held significant positions, including as a partner at Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer and Feld, LLC, an international law firm, and as an equity shareholder at Winstead P.C.
