About Lisa W. Nagel

Lisa Wootton Nagel, a native of American Fork, Utah, comes from a distinguished family of lawyers with over 130 years of legal history in the state. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Utah and her law degree from Gonzaga University School of Law. Practicing law in Salt Lake City since 1995, Lisa has extensive experience in domestic and family law, including divorce, custody matters, DCFS cases, Juvenile Court, and protective orders. Her legal background also includes estate planning, property law, and natural resources law, giving her a well-rounded approach to client representation.

Lisa's career highlights include her work at Utah Legal Services, where she managed high-conflict domestic cases, and her 12 years as an Assistant Attorney General in the Child Protection Division. This role deepened her expertise in child welfare, as she adjudicated hundreds of cases involving abuse, neglect, and parental rights. Licensed in both Utah and California, Lisa is deeply committed to advocating for children and families in her community. Outside of her legal practice, she enjoys mixed-media art, writing, and outdoor activities like skiing and kayaking. In 2013, she expanded her creative pursuits by earning a master’s degree in Creative Writing and Writing for the Performing Arts from the University of California, Riverside.
