Mel boasts a wealth of experience in municipal law, planning, and zoning, providing comprehensive advice on a broad spectrum of local government and economic development issues. His deep understanding of the challenges faced by local governments and their service commitments to citizens is evident in his current roles as the town attorney for both Plainfield and Mooresville.

His legal prowess extends to the courtroom, where Mel has a proven track record in various types of trials, including jury trials and motion practices. Notably, one of Mel's clients secured the largest jury award in Indiana for a condemnation case. Beyond his legal practice, Mel actively contributes to the legal community. He has served on the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Government Practice Section board of directors. As a member of Advancing Indiana Municipalities (AIM) and the Municipal Lawyers’ Association of America, Mel regularly shares his insights at AIM's annual conferences, reinforcing his commitment to the advancement of municipal law.
