About Donelle H. Ratheal

Donelle H. Ratheal is lead counsel at Ratheal Family Law. She previously served as the senior attorney at Ratheal & Associates, PC, and as the managing partner for Ratheal, Maggard & Fortune, PLLC, over three decades of litigation experience.

Donelle's practice primarily focuses on complex matrimonial and family law issues in trials and appeals. Her experience encompasses contested custody, child relocation, lifestyle analysis, high-end child support, family business valuation, dissipation of marital assets, modifications, grandparent rights, third party custody, enforcement of orders, stepparent adoptions, guardianships, and contested wills and trusts. Many of her appeals have resulted in published judicial opinions that clarify or modify existing law.

Donelle has represented children in high conflict custody and guardianship cases throughout her career. She was awarded the 2006 Oklahoma Bar Association's “Outstanding Guardian ad Litem” award for her dedicated service to her child clients.

Donelle is respected by both bench and bar. She served on the Oklahoma Supreme Court’s Guardian ad Litem manual committee, and was one of the founders of the Oklahoma County Guardian ad Litem project.

Donelle serves as a speaker for the National Business Institute on matrimonial, family law, probate and law office technology. She is one of its "Distinguished Faculty Member" honorees. She is a continuing education speaker and writer for the OBA and the ABA Family Law Sections. Her article "Children and Their De Facto Parents" was published in the OBA Journal, and received the "Golden Quill" award for the best journal article in 2014.

Donelle earned her law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance from the University of Denver. She earned a Master's Degree in Piano Performance from the University of Texas at Austin.
