She continued her education at South Texas College of Law, earning her law degree in 2001, and was admitted to the Texas State Bar later that year. During her law school tenure, Sue not only worked for a prominent Houston personal injury firm but also volunteered at the South Texas Legal Clinic, assisting low-income individuals with Social Security benefits and navigating divorce proceedings.
