Dave Carlson is a seasoned attorney with over two decades of experience in the legal field. Admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2001, he graduated from Northern Illinois University College of Law, where he was the Class Speaker for his graduating class. Before law school, he earned a degree in Political Science from the University of Arizona and worked various jobs to support his education. Carlson has also completed advanced judicial education at George Mason University, focusing on corporate governance and economics.

Carlson's career includes significant roles both as a prosecutor and a judge. He served as an Assistant State's Attorney in Will County, leading the Gang Crimes Unit, before co-founding a law firm specializing in criminal and civil litigation. In 2013, he was appointed as an Associate Judge in Illinois' 12th Judicial Circuit, and a year later, he became a Circuit Judge, presiding over the felony division in Will County. His tenure as a judge has been marked by leadership in courtroom proceedings and the implementation of new technology within the criminal justice system. Carlson is a respected member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Illinois Judges Association, known for his dedication to justice and legal excellence.
