Jeremy S. Harter is a founding partner of Harter & Schottland, P.C., where he leverages a diverse legal background to represent individuals and businesses in Lake County and beyond. Before founding the firm, he gained valuable experience at a prominent law firm, focusing on municipal prosecution and corporate issues for two large villages. Today, his practice includes civil litigation such as landlord-tenant disputes, contract cases, and regulatory hearings, along with extensive experience in traffic, misdemeanor, and felony cases. Known for his courtroom success in both contested hearings and trials, Mr. Harter is highly regarded by his clients, consistently earning five-star reviews. Beyond his legal work, Mr. Harter is an active and passionate community volunteer. He has served as a Judge for NICASA’s Teen Court program, guiding Lake County adolescents toward better futures, an effort that earned him the NICASA Partner’s Award. He also provides pro bono legal services through the College of Lake County’s Women’s Center and the Lake County Court Eviction Help Desk. Mr. Harter holds leadership roles, including Trustee for the Antioch Police Pension Fund and Board Member for the Lake County Bar Association and local Chamber of Commerce. A proud graduate of Knox College and The John Marshall Law School, he balances his professional and civic commitments with family life, raising twins with his wife.
