About David Bliven
Attorney David Bliven graduated with honors from Syracuse University in 1993, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. Following graduation, he worked as a statistician for the New York State Commission on City Court Judicial Reallocation within the Office of the Deputy Chief Administrative Judge.
He pursued his legal education at New York Law School, graduating with honors in 1997 and ranking in the top 15% of his class. With over 26 years of legal experience, Mr. Bliven has dedicated his career primarily to matrimonial and family law.
After completing law school, he spent a year in private practice, focusing largely on matrimonial cases, before serving nearly three years as a Family Court Prosecutor for the New York City Administration for Children’s Services. In this role, he handled cases involving child support, child abuse and neglect, and foster care on behalf of the City of New York.
In 2000, Mr. Bliven established his own practice, where he continues to focus almost exclusively on matrimonial and family law matters. He maintains a commitment to staying informed on the latest developments in family law through ongoing education and case law analysis.
Mr. Bliven holds an "AV" rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating for both legal ability and ethical standards. He has achieved a perfect 10.0 rating on Avvo and has been listed in the "Super Lawyers" directory by Thompson Reuters, an honor awarded to fewer than 5% of attorneys in each practice area. Additionally, he is a Certified Financial Litigator through the American Academy of Certified Financial Litigators, a qualification that proves particularly valuable in high-net-worth divorce and support cases.
