About Sharon T. Diamant
Sharon T. Diamant has over twenty-five years of experience in the legal field. She began her career as a prosecutor with the Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office in 2000, where she handled cases involving theft, traffic offenses, protective order violations, and assault. Her work in the Juvenile Division included high-profile cases, such as one that contributed to the establishment of landmark legislation requiring juvenile sex offenders to register. In 2007, she joined the office’s white-collar crime team, where she prosecuted cases of embezzlement, large-scale theft, and misconduct by public officials, as well as investigating police-involved shootings.
After a brief period practicing criminal law in Hillsborough County, Florida, Ms. Diamant returned to Montgomery County in 2004 and remained there until 2010, when she transitioned to private practice. In her private practice, she represents clients in criminal and domestic law cases, including divorce, child custody, protective orders, and post-judgment matters. Her experience extends to cases that intersect both areas, such as those involving family members with criminal histories.
Ms. Diamant has been featured in media outlets such as WJLA 7 News for her work in groundbreaking cases, including advocating for grandparents’ custody rights and securing mental health treatment for a client facing serious charges. She is known for her commitment to her clients, providing direct communication and support, and advocating for resolution strategies tailored to individual needs.
A graduate of the University of Dayton School of Law in 1999, Ms. Diamant is licensed to practice in Maryland, Florida, the U.S. District Court in Greenbelt, and the U.S. Supreme Court. She has been recognized on the Maryland Super Lawyers list multiple times and is actively involved in professional organizations, including the Montgomery County Bar Association, the Women's Bar Association, and the Collaborative Divorce Law Society.
