About Dennis Murphy

Dennis Murphy, the firm’s Senior Partner, earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 1982 and his law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1985. From 1986 to 1990, he served as an officer in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps, which included an appointment as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the United States District Courts for the District of Maryland and the Territory of Guam. During this period, he prosecuted a wide range of criminal and traffic cases, and from 1988 to 1990, he was assigned to the legal staff of the Superintendent of the United States Naval Academy.

After completing his military service, Mr. Murphy entered private practice and founded the firm in 1990. He draws on his prosecutorial background to defend clients in state and federal courts in matters that include serious felony and traffic cases. He is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, and the Court of Appeals of Maryland.
