David is deeply committed to treating others with kindness and respect—values that took root during his childhood while working at his father’s furniture store. At just nine years old, he watched his father interact with customers, always prioritizing care and exceptional service. This early exposure to hard work and dedication shaped his approach to both business and life. Growing up, David took on a range of responsibilities, from loading trucks to assisting customers, reinforcing his appreciation for diligence and the importance of valuing every individual.

His passion for helping others eventually led him to pursue a legal career. While attending Emory University Law School, he recognized a need for a different kind of personal injury law firm—one built on honesty, accessibility, and unwavering client commitment. Through his experiences clerking at other firms, he envisioned a practice that prioritized not only legal advocacy but also an exceptional client experience.

In 1984, after two years of practicing law independently, David established Montlick with a clear mission: to provide high-quality legal representation and meaningful support to the community. His guiding principle has always been to treat clients the way he would want to be treated, ensuring they receive the attention and service they deserve.

Now serving as CEO and Founder, David continues to lead by example. He takes great pride in the firm’s dedicated team and finds inspiration in the next generation of professionals, including the children of long-standing team members who have pursued legal careers themselves.
